Oak Ridge National Laboratory, one of the world leaders in additive manufacturing (3-D printing), has signed a non-exclusive licensing agreement for a “portfolio of ORNL patents” with Strangpresse LLC  of Youngstown, Ohio.

According to information released by the Oak Ridge lab, the agreement will allow Strangpresse to use, make or sell the lab’s developments to support additive manufacture of parts “much larger than current standards.”

In a prepared statement, Strangpresse President Chuck George said, “We’re very pleased to be joining with ORNL to carry large-scale additive manufacturing technology to the marketplace. Our leadership team has over 70 years of experience in the thermoplastics extrusion industry, and we see this partnership as a great opportunity to expand this technology.”

For more information, check out the ORNL website.
