Four researchers at Oak Ridge National Laboratory will receive at least $500K a year a year for the next five years as part of a Department of Energy program to boost the work of scientists and engineers early in their careers. All told, 44 scientists across the U.S. received the early-career grants.
Here are the four from ORNL:
— Christian Engelmann of the Computer Science and Mathematics Division. He was selected for his project, “Resilience Design Patterns: A Structured Approach to Resilience at Extreme Scale.”
— Cory Hauck, also of the Computer Science and Mathematics Division. He was chosen for his project, “Hybrid Methods for Complex Particle Systems.”
— Katharine Page of the Neutron Sciences Directorate. Her project is titled, “Exploiting Small Signatures: Quantifying Nanoscale Structure and Behavior.”
— Chad Parish of the Materials Science and Technology Division. His project is titled, “Damage Mechanism Interactions at the Plasma-Materials Interface.”
