Student interns at Oak Ridge National Laboratory get a chance to do all sorts of things that would be unimaginable in normal settings for kids in their teens or early 20s. It’s like a cool dream come true, especially when young scientists and engineers get a summer opportunity to test the boundaries of their minds and of science via the use of the world’s top supercomputers. It’s a thing.

ORNL provides a look at some of these interns and what they did/or are doing, using machines such as Titan, a Cray supercomputer that’s capable of several million billion calculations per second even on an off-day.
