Arthur “Buddy” Bland, director of Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Leadership Computing Facility, will be guest speaker at the Sept. 8 meeting of Friends of ORNL. The meeting, which begins with social time at 11 a.m. , followed by lunch ($8 per person) and the lecture at noon, is open to the general public.
The lunch meeting will be held at the UT Resource Center, 1201 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
ORNL has a stable of supercomputers, including the Cray system known as Titan. Titan currently is the fastest computer in the United States that’s used for open science.
